In beautiful summer weather, on September 4, 2021, the 26th International Military Climb to Kriváň took place, which formed part of the society-wide events dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising.
The event was also connected with the act of laying wreaths at the memorial at Štrbské pleso with numerous delegations of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic, Forces for Special Operations of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, delegations of soldiers from embassies accredited in the Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, USA, Russian Federation and others present.
During the climb itself, the cooperation of top teams composed of ranks of retired military and professional soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic proved to be effective, while the individual pairs took turns at regular intervals at the Kriváň peak.
In total, about 1,650 participants from various parts of Slovakia and abroad took over the participant letter at the top of Kriváň. The oldest participant was 79 years old, the youngest one was a 7-year-old boy.
