DMD INDUSTRY DAY

The very first DMD INDUSTRY DAY was held in Dubnica nad Váhom in companies of KONŠTRUKTA – Defence, ZTS – ŠPECIÁL and ZVS holding, subsidiaries of DMD GROUP, on 22nd September 2022. During the event, they presented themselves to coming high school graduates and ninth graders of elementary schools. It was an objective to introduce opportunities to find out working career in various job positions in our companies, and to students of the ninth grade of elementary schools various prospective and attractive study fields through the high schools in Považie region, which will provide them with a basis for their further development of knowledge and skills.

After the opening speech given by DMD GROUP CEO – Štefan Škultéty, students were addressed by Peter Wolf – Mayor of Dubnica nad Váhom, Jaroslav Baška – Chairman of the Trenčín County and Marian Majer – State Secretary of the Slovak MoD. In their speeches, the participating guests pointed out the significant position of the engineering industry in Považie Region with great potential for its further development. In this regard, the required qualification and relevant preparation of students is important challenge for future employers, and thus the mutual cooperation between schools, universities and industry is essential.

During the day, students asked questions to company employees and representatives from Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, Technical High School and Industrial High School in Dubnica nad Váhom. They also had a show tour through production process in ZTS – ŠPECIÁL company, and later on they visited Specialized Testing Facility Lieskovec of KONŠTRUKTA – Defence company to see the production and assembly process of ZUZANA 2 Self-propelled Gun Howitzers, including a demonstration of its automatic loading cycle. During the event the CV90 Tracked Armored Vehicle by BAE SYSTEMS Hägglunds was displayed, the one that was selected by the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic for further acquisition program. It is believed, the visit was interesting and beneficial one for attending students, and it will motivate their interest to extend our staff in the future.
