KONŠTRUKTA – Defence as main contractor for Patria

Slovakia and Finland have signed the Agreement on acquisition of Patria´s 8×8 armored combat vehicles

On the 30th of August 2022, the process of major modernization project for the Slovak Armed Forces was finalized. Slovak Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď and Finnish Defence Minister Antti Kaikkonen confirmed the acquisition of 76 Patria AMVXP 8×8 armored combat vehicles by signing the Agreement between the Government of the Slovak Republic and the Government of the Republic of Finland.

During the bilateral meeting, two related contracts were signed as the result of intensive negotiations between representatives of the MoD of the Slovak Republic, Patria and companies of the Slovak defence industry.
Specifically, it is a contract between the MoD of the Slovak Republic and the company Patria, and the third contract is between Patria and company KONŠTRUKTA – Defenc, a. s. with a role and responsibility of the main contractor in the project and will ensure project management of local content production, as well as the manufacture of certain assemblies and subassemblies, integration and final assembly, testing and subsequent service and maintenance tasks.

Furthermore, as part of the more than 40% local content involvement of Slovak companies in the project, there is expected participation of main subcontractors as EVPÚ, CSM Industry, Aliter Technologies, VRM, ZŤS-Špeciál and ZVS holding, and several dozen other companies on various production and subcontractor´s chain levels.
